Satsang

Chapter-6

Rise and fall in satsang

In Samvat 1876, on the ninth day of the first fortnight of the month of Margshirsh Shriji Maharaj was seated in the Durbar of Shri Dada Khachar at Gadhada. He was clad in pure white. The Sadhus and Satsangis from the various places were assembled before him.

Shriji Maharaj said. "A satsangi who has developed the power to discriminate between Sat and Asat possesses the power to realise the attributes of Asat within his ownself, which should be removed for the absolute purification. He also possesses the knowledge that God and the Saint in rapport with him fully, possess the divine attributes. Therefore, their sermons, however trenchant are made for the purification of the devotee. He, therefore, never feels hurt by their words of wisdom and progress and his path is unhampered. Moreover, one who does not possess such keen faculty to discrimiante, between Sat and Asat remains elated by his own virtues. The ego thus developed within him tends to resist such spiritual sermons which directly hit at his ego. He, therefore, strays from the spirtitual path. One therefore, should boldly cast off the ego sense of virtuosity. He should repose complete confidence in God and his Saints and in their lessons, in order to ascend the lofty heights of self-realisation.
